Guilt and sin are too big for man to cope with. But he doesn’t need to. Christ has already paid the penalty for sin. Some time ago I talked with a well-educated man about his relationship to God. He was honest with himself and soon admitted that his own righteousness did not measure up to the standards of a holy God. A few weeks later this man told me that he wanted to accept Christ. We knelt quietly together and he opened his heart to Him and was truly saved. During the months that followed, he eagerly read God’s Word and took part in Christian activities. My heart rejoiced as I saw him develop into a fine, mature Christian.
A few weeks later I had luncheon with a different man, also well educated.
